Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany Michael Uwe Bierhoff is concluding his diplomatic mission in Turkmenistan. On this occasion, he met with Turkmenistan's Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the sides discussed issues of bilateral cooperation and prospects for their further development.
The sides noted the importance of implementing the agreements reached within the framework of the visit of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly
Berdimuhamedov to the Federal Republic of Germany in September 2023 to participate in the top-level meetings “Central Asia-Germany”.
The sides noted the development of trade and economic partnership between the two countries, in which the Turkmen-German Working Group on Economic Cooperation operates effectively and joint business forums are held.
The diplomats also paid attention to cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian sphere. In particular, they stressed the importance of continuing co-operation in healthcare, culture, education, including the study of the German language in Turkmenistan.
At the end of the meeting, Meredov expressed gratitude to the German ambassador for his productive activities on the development of Turkmen-German relations.
In turn, Michael Bierhoff expressed gratitude to the Turkmen side for support and assistance in the implementation of his diplomatic mission in Turkmenistan, the source said.
