Today, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Mahri Bashimova met with the new Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic to Turkmenistan (with residence in Moscow) Ms. Ekaterini Xagorari.
The Ambassador presented copies of her credentials and expressed gratitude for the hospitality, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports.
The parties noted the interest of the two countries in developing friendly bilateral relations. The importance of cooperation within the framework of international structures, in particular the UN, the EU and others, was emphasized. In this regard, the parties discussed the possibility of organizing meetings of representatives of the two countries at international venues to promote constructive multilateral relations.
The diplomats noted the importance of the upcoming 2025, declared by the UN General Assembly on the initiative of Turkmenistan as the International Year of Peace and Trust. Representatives of Greece are invited to participate in events at various levels scheduled for this significant year.
The parties also considered the possibility of establishing cooperation between higher education institutions of the two countries, in particular those specializing in international relations and diplomacy.
At the end of the meeting, Mahri Bashimova wished the new ambassador success in her work and assured that the Turkmen side is ready to provide the necessary assistance in her diplomatic mission.
