An international conference dedicated to cooperation in food security in the context of climate change was held in the capital's “Yyldyz” hotel on November 28. As reported by the State News Agency of Turkmenistan, an official agreement was signed between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) during the event.

The conference was attended by high-ranking representatives of the relevant ministries of Turkmenistan, FAO Deputy Director-General Viorel Gutu, and the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency Rafael Grossi. The main goal of the meeting was to coordinate regional and global cooperation to ensure food security in the context of climate change.

Key topics of the conference included the use of modern technologies in agriculture, digitalization of the agricultural sector and adaptation to changing climate conditions. Particular emphasis was placed on the need for international cooperation to address global food challenges.

The event included thematic sections on improving food security, using climate finance and exchanging experiences in the field of sustainable agricultural development.

Turkmenistan, which was one of the first to adapt the Sustainable Development Goals at the national level, demonstrates an active position in international cooperation on environmental and food security issues.
