A study by the British Charity Aid Foundation (CAF) has once again confirmed Indonesia's reputation as the most compassionate country in the world. The results of the World Giving Index show that the vast majority of residents of this southeastern country – nine out of ten Indonesians – are actively involved in charitable activities. More than 60% of Indonesians regularly volunteer, bigasia.ru reports with reference to VietnamPlus.
This year's large-scale survey involved over 145 thousand people from 142 countries. Participants were asked to answer three key questions about their charitable activities over the past month. According to the results of the study, Indonesia scored 74 points, confidently taking the first place in the rating.
The leader was followed by Kenya (63 points) and Singapore (61 points). It is noteworthy that over the ten-year period, China demonstrated a significant increase in charitable activity: the number of donations increased by 388%, and the number of volunteers by 441%.
