Turkmen tennis players demonstrated great success at the international tournament Ashgabat Open 2024, held in the capital of Turkmenistan. Following the results of another game day, it became known that the entire podium in women's singles will be occupied exclusively by local athletes.
Eight representatives of Turkmenistan made it to the quarterfinals of the tournament: Ilima Huseynova, Aylara Kakabayeva, Aynur Annamyradova, Nazli Hudaykuliyeva and Sulgun Ishankuliyeva, who occupy the first five seeded positions, as well as Safiya Tribunskaya, Jennet Orazaliyeva and Anna Ponyatova, reports “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”.
The success of the Turkmen tennis players is especially noteworthy given that athletes from 12 countries are taking part in the competition, including representatives from countries with developed tennis traditions such as Great Britain and India.
Now fans will see exciting matches between compatriots, which will determine the distribution of places on the podium.
