Representatives of Turkmenistan are participating in the music and film festival “The Future is Now – Central Asia”, which is taking place in Berlin from November 12 to 20.

As reported by “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”, yesterday evening, within the framework of the festival, a screening and discussion of the Turkmen feature film Istärin by director Arslan Eyeberdiyev took place, immersing viewers in the poetic and spiritual world of the great classic Magtymguly Fragi.

In total, five films created in various genres by young filmmakers from Central Asian countries will be shown at the festival.

The goal of the festival is to introduce the German public to the current social and cultural situation, plans for the future in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, with which Germany has had 30 years of diplomatic relations.

During the festival, young musicians and filmmakers from Central Asian countries present the cultures and traditions of their peoples, entering into dialogue with young representatives of art and culture from Germany.

The opening of the festival was marked by a concert at the Berlin Philharmonic. Six trios – one from each Central Asian country and one from Germany – presented works related to the reflection of nature in the national musical tradition and inspired by certain elements of nature.

Turkmenistan was represented at the concert by students of the Turkmen National Conservatory named after Maya Kulieva: S. Ataniyazov, K. Bashimov and A. Babagulyev, who performed the melody Türkmenistanyň tebigaty (“Nature of Turkmenistan”) on stringed instruments.

Introducing each of these young musicians, the concert organizers noted that they are winners of national and international chamber music competitions.

The festival is organized by Dr. Gabriele Minz GmbH, a company specializing in international cultural projects, the source notes.
