Representatives of the Russian education sector held meetings in Ashgabat

Deputy Minister of Education of the Russian Federation Andrei Korneev and Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Konstantin Mogilevsky were on a visit to Ashgabat to participate in a meeting of the co-chairs of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Russian Commission on Economic Cooperation.

During the visit, they held meetings at the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.

On October 30, Andrey Korneev met with Deputy Minister of Education of Turkmenistan A. Atayev, during which the parties discussed the prospects for bilateral cooperation and the possibility of exchanging experience on the Russian program “Professionality”. This was reported on the website of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.

The Turkmen side expressed interest in studying Russian approaches, as well as methods aimed at effectively reducing training periods with the integration of employers. The Russian side proposed organizing familiarization visits for Turkmen specialists in order to study in practice the elements of the program, including the methodology and principles of training specialists.

In conclusion, the parties confirmed their commitment to the development of academic mobility, emphasizing the importance of increasing quotas for Turkmen students in Russian universities, which will contribute to strengthening cultural and educational ties.

On the same day, Konstantin Mogilevsky met with representatives of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan. The parties discussed a number of current topics, including the initiative to create a joint university, the project of which is aimed at training specialists in accordance with international standards.

Issues of ensuring the quality of education of Turkmen students studying in Russian universities were also discussed.

In addition, the delegations discussed prospects for exchanging experience in implementing Russian programs in higher education, including initiatives such as “Priority 2030”, “Advanced Engineering Schools”, and “Science and Universities”. Areas for conducting study visits and educational seminars were outlined, which will allow Turkmen specialists to study Russian experience and adapt successful practices to their national needs.

In conclusion, the parties confirmed their desire to develop long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of education and expressed their readiness to implement new initiatives.
