From September 17 to 20, a training course for national trainers on “Implementation of a quality management system in veterinary and medical laboratories” is being held at the "Yyldyz" hotel.

This course is carried out with the support of the WHO Country Office in Turkmenistan and the WHO Regional Office for Europe within the framework of the project “Pandemic preparedness and response based on the One Health approach in Central Asia".

The training is conducted by international experts, WHO/Europe consultants Gulmira Kalmambetova and Alexander Dzhaguparov.

The main goal of the course is to train national trainers on the issues of “Implementation of a quality management system (QMS) in medical laboratories” among laboratory specialists in the country’s health sector and veterinary service.

The training is based on the principles of the ISO/IEC 17025, 15189 and other international standards that govern quality management and testing in laboratories.

The introduction of a quality management system in veterinary and medical laboratories is of great importance for improving the epizootic situation in the country and for monitoring the health of people and animals.

This course is an important step towards modernizing the country's laboratory systems and meets the long-term goals of strengthening the health system, veterinary medicine and improving the epidemiological situation and ensuring food security.
