The Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Russia Esen Aydogdyev visited the Center of Oriental Literature of the Russian State Library, where the art and book exhibition “Reflection” has been taking place since November 16.

The exhibition is dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the outstanding poet, thinker and classic of Turkmen literature Magtymguly Fragi. It became the culmination of the art competition of illustrations of the poetry of the East within the framework of the VIII Moscow International Arts Festival “Sounds of Dutar” named after Nury Halmamedov. Both professional artists and amateurs took part in the competition.

The exhibition was organized by the organizing committee of the festival “Sounds of Dutar” in cooperation with the library staff and demonstrates the rich cultural heritage of Magtymguly.

The invited guests were offered an interesting excursion, during which the librarians told about rare editions of Magtymguly's works, which are in the collections of the Russian State Library.

The exhibition featured works by both the laureates of the art competition and members of the competition jury, including famous masters of art: sculptor, People's Artist of Turkmenistan Klychmurad Yarmamedov, artist and designer Darius Asadullaev, as well as member of the International Federation of Artists Vladimir Igaev.

Participants of the recitation competition “Universe of the Word” expressively recited Magtymguly's poems.

The art and book exhibition will be open until December 16, but it may be extended until the end of 2024 so that as many people as possible can get acquainted with Magtymguly's rich legacy, according to a press release from the organizing committee of the “Sounds of the Dutar” festival.
