Turkmenistan plans to invest more than 40 billion manats in the economy in 2025, the ceremony of awarding the Youth Prize of Turkmenistan was held in Ashgabat, the Second Turkmen-Uzbek Interregional Forum will be held in Turkmenabat and other news

1. The draft state budget of Turkmenistan for 2025 provides for large-scale investments in the country's economy in the amount of more than 40 billion manats from all sources of funding, as well as an increase in social payments to the population. The document was sent to the Mejlis for consideration after being signed by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. As Deputy Prime Minister Hojamurad Geldimyradov reported at a government meeting, the draft budget was developed in accordance with the "Program of the President of Turkmenistan for the socio-economic development of the country in 2022-2028".

2. The award ceremony for the winners of the Turkmenistan Youth Prize was held on Saturday at the Center for Public Organizations. Out of 506 nominees, the expert commission selected 135 winners, including university professors, students, schoolchildren, artists and young specialists in various fields. The ceremony was dedicated to the 33rd anniversary of the founding of the Magtymguly Youth Organization. The winners received memorable gifts, including the book "Magtymguly", published for the 300th anniversary of the poet and thinker, certificates and flowers.

3. On November 20-21, the city of Turkmenabat will host the Second Turkmen-Uzbek Interregional Forum, which will be accompanied by a national exhibition of Uzbek goods. The event will include bilateral meetings and the signing of a number of cooperation documents. The forum program includes a grand opening ceremony on November 20, after which a concert of artists from both countries will be held at the Seyitnazar Seydi State Music and Drama Theater. On the second day of the forum, November 21, consultations will be held on the development of cooperation in trade and tourism, as well as strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties between the two states.

4. On November 26-27, Ashgabat will host the III International Conference and Exhibition "International Transport and Transit Corridors: Interconnection and Development" (ITTC-2024). The event is dedicated to the World Sustainable Transport Day. The large-scale event, organized by the Agency of Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, will bring together more than 600 delegates from 40 countries. Participants include representatives of railway and logistics companies, air carriers, transport equipment manufacturers and government regulators. The conference will discuss key infrastructure projects in the region, including TAPI, the Trans-Caspian route and the development of high-speed highways. Particular attention will be paid to the introduction of green technologies and the digital transformation of the transport sector.

5. Turkmenistan has been invited to participate in the International Exhibition on New Energy Vehicles Technology, which will be held from February 21 to 24, 2025 in Beijing. The event includes a new energy vehicle technology exhibition, a supply chain conference and an international forum.

6. The 41st meeting of the Permanent Council of Ministers of Culture of the Member States of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) was held in Ashgabat. The event was timed to coincide with the proclamation of the ancient Turkmen city of Anau as the "Cultural Capital of the Turkic World" in 2024. The meeting participants highly appreciated the events held in Turkmenistan this year. The council members discussed and made decisions to intensify joint efforts to preserve and popularize the cultural heritage of the Turkic-speaking peoples, approving the TURKSOY Activity Program for 2025. Following the meeting, a final declaration was signed.

7. At the regular meeting of the National Commission of Turkmenistan for UNESCO, held on November 16 under the chairmanship of the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov, the draft "Regulations on the clubs of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization in Turkmenistan" was considered and approved.

8. Victoria Kjær Teilwig, representing Denmark, has triumphed in the international beauty contest "Miss Universe 2024". This is the first time in the history of the contest that the title has gone to a participant from this Scandinavian country. 21-year-old Teilwig surpassed more than 120 competitors from all over the world. The highlight of the evening was the moment when the crown was handed over from the previous winner, Shannis Palacios from Nicaragua.

9. A unique gold pocket watch presented to the rescuer of the Titanic passengers has reached an unprecedented price at auction, becoming the most expensive artifact associated with the legendary liner. The precious chronometer from Tiffany & Co., made of 18-karat gold, was presented to Captain Arthur Rostron as a token of gratitude from three wealthy passengers rescued by his ship RMS Carpathia after the tragedy in 1912. Auction house Henry Aldridge & Son confirmed that the American collector purchased the relic for 2 million USD, including all associated payments.

10. Tennis players Ilima Huseynova and Aylara Kakabayeva became the winners of the international tournament Ashgabat Open 2024 in doubles among girls under 14 years old. In the final match, the Turkmen athletes beat their compatriots Ainura Annamyradova and Nazli Hudaykuliyeva with a score of 6:4, 6:1. On the way to the title, Huseynova and Kakabayeva left no chance for their opponents in the quarterfinals and semifinals, winning two "dry" victories with a score of 6:0, 6:0 over the Iranian pair Mahra Parniyan / Shayla Savakh and the Turkmen duo Ainura Agamuradova / Jennet Orazaliyeva, respectively. The international tournament Ashgabat Open-2024 brought together young tennis players under 14 years old from 12 countries of Europe and Asia. The competitions were held at the Tennis Complex of the Olympic village of Ashgabat.

11. The victory in the men's doubles was won by the duo Nazar Amangeldyev and Kerimgeldi Velibegov, beating their compatriots Yunus Annamyradov and Ali Geldiyev. Thus, the Turkmen tennis players captured the entire podium of the home tournament in doubles.
